Together, we've traveled the world, creating unforgettable memories and discovering the people, places, and experiences that have inspired so much of his writing. Each book began as a story told to his grandchildren.
On his 80th birthday, Grandpa Stan retired from the United States to Cuenca, Ecuador, where he embraced a new adventure. Over the years, he opened his home to hundreds of Couchsurfers from around the world, creating lifelong friendships and sharing stories across cultures.
One of those travelers became much more than a guest—they became a dear friend and the talented illustrator who brought Teddy’s world to life.
